Overview.
Monkeypox virus (MPXV) is a zoonotic virus species of the subset genus Orthopoxvirus (OPX), from the Poxviridae family.
It can be transmitted between species via animal bites and inter-species transfer of bodily fluids. Transmission between humans can occur through contact with infected lesions, inhalation of respiratory droplets, and indirect contact with contaminated items.

Monkeypox Virus (MPXV) PCR Kit
The assay is an in vitro qPCR detection kit for the qualitative determination of Monkeypox virus (MPXV) DNA in human samples. Specimens may include whole blood, K2EDTA plasma, serum, and lesion exudate samples from the skin. It is based on the hydrolysis probe detection method and is a highly sensitive one step qPCR kit.

Sample Collection:
The sample for AMD Human Monkeypox Virus (MPXV) qPCR detection Kit should be collected via human samples such as The “WHO” recommended specimen type is; skin lesion material, including swabs of lesion surface and/or exudate, roofs from more than one lesion, or lesion crusts. Swab the lesion vigorously, to ensure adequate viral DNA is collected. Both dry swabs and swabs placed in viral transport media (VTM) can be used and any other sample types used must be validated in-house prior to use at the risk of false negatives.
