Overview.
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) continue to be a significant cause of morbidity around the world, and most are asymptomatic. It is therefore imperative to diagnose early, as undiagnosed STIs also facilitate the transmission and also the acquisition of other STIs.
Although more than 30 identified pathogens are known to be transmitted sexually, only three bacterial STIs; Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG) and Mycoplasma genitalium (MG), and one parasitic STI; Trichomonas vaginalis (TV) are known to be curable. These have been associated with vaginal infections, cervicitis and urethritis complications like pelvic inflammatory diseases.

CT/NG/MG/TV Multiplex Kit
The assay is an in vitro qPCR detection kit for the qualitative determination of Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), Neisseria gonorrhoea (NG), Mycoplasma genitalium (MG) and Trichomonas vaginalis (TV) in human samples. It is based on the hydrolysis probe detection method and is a highly sensitive one step qPCR kit. Specimens may vaginal and cervical swab specimens, urine samples, and urethral swabs.
