Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The bacteria usually attack the lungs, but TB bacteria can attack any part of the body such as the kidney, spine, and brain. As a result, two TB-related conditions exist: latent TB infection (LTBI) and TB diseases.
The assay is an in vitro PCR reaction assay for the quantitative determination of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) DNA in human sample such as sputum, bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) and cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) based on Taqman detection method for DNA MTB Complex with high sensitive one step qPCR kit.
The Zena Max MTB kit reaches up 20 IU/ml “rxn volume 25ul” under our validation methods and devices. The specificity of the AMD MTB assay is up to 100% for M. tuberculosis under our validation methods and devices.
