It can cause gonorrhoea, a common sexually transmitted infection (STI) with symptoms such as pain, discharge, and discomfort. Untreated gonorrhoea can lead to serious health complications, including pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) in women, which can result in infertility. Gonorrhoea is transmitted through sexual contact, including vaginal, anal, and oral sex.
