hMPV PCR Kit
Metapneumovirus (hMPV) PCR Kit
Zena Max – Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV) PCR Kit CE-IVD
Overview.
Human Metapneumovirus (hMPXV) belongs to the Paramyxoviridae family and is subdivided into two major genetic lineages, A and B.
Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV) is a virus that causes cold-like symptoms. It causes infections such as pneumonia and asthma flare-ups. hMPV is most common in the winter and early spring, from the age of 5. Currently, no effective vaccines or medications are available against hMPV infection, meaning that rapid and sensitive identification of positive cases, alongside comprehensive surveillance programs, is essential to prevent outbreaks and control spread.

Product Details:
Metapneumovirus Human (hMPV) PCR Kit
The AMD Ltd. Human Metapneumovirus PCR Detection Kit is a real-time RT-PCR test designed for the qualitative detection and differentiation between hMPV subtype A and subtype B within human samples, such as nasopharyngeal swabs or bronchoalveolar lavage, based on the hydrolysis probe one step method.
Metapneumovirus PCR Kit should only be used by laboratory personnel trained in the handling of patient samples, correct use of PPE equipment qPCR machine use, and data interpretation.
Quality:
All Advanced Molecular Diagnostics products are manufactured in-house under the highest quality standards.
Sensitivity:
The Advanced Molecular Diagnostics Metapneumovirus (hMPV) qPCR Detection Kit is highly sensitive and can detect a minimum of 10 copies per reaction as validated by our in-house methods.
Specificity:
The Advanced Molecular Diagnostics Metapneumovirus (hMPV) qPCR Detection Kit is highly specific for Human Metapneumovirus RNA as validated by our in-house methods.
Sample Collection:
The sample for AMD Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV) qPCR detection Kit should be collected via human samples such as The “WHO” recommended specimen types, which are: nasal or nasopharyngeal swab and/or nasal wash samples. Both dry swabs and swabs placed in viral transport media (VTM) can be used and any other sample types used must be validated in-house prior to use at the risk of false negatives.
