Overview.
Human Adenovirus (HAdV) cause a wide spectrum of acute and chronic diseases primarily in infants and children under 5 years of age. Their efficient aerosolised and faecal–oral spread mostly causes self-limited, febrile respiratory illness and gastroenteritis, although in immunocompromised patients, HAdV frequently causes severe disease, with high rates of morbidity and mortality.
As any adenovirus serotype from each of the six subgroups may potentially cause infection and/or disease in the immunocompromised host, the use of a diagnostic and quantitative method, which can detect all serotypes, is essential.

Adenovirus Kit
The assay is an in vitro qPCR detection kit for the qualitative determination of Adenovirus in human samples. It is based on the hydrolysis probe detection method and is a highly sensitive one step qPCR kit. Specimens may include nasal or nasopharyngeal swab and/or nasal wash samples.
