Rabies Virus PCR Detection Kit
Rabies Virus PCR Detection Kit
Overview.
Rabies is a viral disease that causes acute encephalitis (brain inflammation) in mammals, including humans. It is caused by the rabies virus, a non-enveloped virus with a single-stranded RNA genome. The virus is primarily transmitted through the saliva of infected animals, typically via bites. Once introduced into the body, the virus travels through the nerves to the brain, where it causes severe neurological symptoms. After reaching the brain, it spreads to the salivary glands, where it is shed in high concentrations, further enabling transmission. The incubation period for rabies varies depending on the species and the site of infection. It typically ranges from 2 to 8 weeks; however, periods as long as six months have been documented. Once symptoms appear, rabies is almost universally fatal, and there is no effective treatment for the disease at this stage.
- Easy to use One one-step Real-Time PCR Technology
