Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) continue to be a significant cause of morbidity around the world, and most are asymptomatic. It is therefore imperative to diagnose early, as undiagnosed STIs facilitate the transmission and also the acquisition of other STIs, and the two most common are Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) and Neisseria gonorrhoea (NG).
These STIs in particular cause cervicitis in women and ascend to the upper reproductive tract in 10–20% of cases, leading to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which can then cause inflammation and damage to fallopian tubes that results in tubal factor infertility (TFI).

CT/NG Multiplex Kit
The assay is an in vitro qPCR detection kit for the qualitative determination of Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) and Neisseria gonorrhoea (NG) in human samples. It is based on the hydrolysis probe detection method and is a highly sensitive one step qPCR kit. Specimens may vaginal and cervical swab specimens, urine samples, and urethral swabs.
