Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) PCR Detection Kit

Zena Max – Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) PCR Detection Kit CE-IVD

Overview.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), an enveloped RNA virus, is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. However, in susceptible populations such as infants, children, and the elderly, RSV is considered to be the most serious respiratory pathogen causing annual epidemics of bronchiolitis and pneumonia worldwide, and is associated with high hospitalisation rates and excess morbidity/mortality. The high prevalence of RSV also results in most individuals being exposed as children within the first two years of life, and thereafter, recurrent infections can take place through adulthood3.

  • Easy to use One step Real-Time PCR Technology
  • Compatible with most commonly used RT-PCR machines
  • Specificity of up to 100% and Sensitive down to 10 copies per reaction

Product Details:

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) PCR Kit

The assay is an in vitro RT-qPCR detection kit for the qualitative determination of Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) A and B in human samples. It is based on the hydrolysis probe detection method and is a highly sensitive one step qPCR kit. Specimens may include nasal or nasopharyngeal swab and/or nasal wash samples.

Quality:

All Advanced Molecular Diagnostics products are manufactured in-house under the highest quality standards.

Sensitivity:

The Advanced Molecular Diagnostics Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) RT-qPCR Detection Kit is highly sensitive and can detect a minimum of 10 copies per reaction as validated by our in-house methods.

Specificity:

The Advanced Molecular Diagnostics Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) RT-qPCR Detection Kit is highly specific for RSV RNA as validated by our in-house methods.

Sample Collection:

The sample for AMD Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) RT-qPCR detection Kit should be collected via human samples such as the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommended specimen types, which are: nasal or nasopharyngeal swab and/or nasal wash samples. Both dry swabs and swabs placed in viral transport media (VTM) can be used and any other sample types used must be validated in-house prior to use at the risk of false negatives.
